The Rosie Project is a light, humorous romance by Australian author Graeme Simsion. It is funny and touching chick lit, light without being air-headed. The voice acting by Dan O'Grady on the audiobook is wonderful, making this one of my favorite audiobooks of the year.
The Rosie Project is the story of genetics professor Don Tillman and his attempts to find love. We join Professor Tillman in a lecture he is giving about Asperger syndrome and other autism spectrum disorders. Tillman himself clearly shares certain characteristics of the Asperger patients he describes, but he makes no acknowledgement of this as he struggles through the social interactions required by his search for love. The result is a quirky, fun and surprisingly engaging romantic comedy.
The Rosie Project is a fantastic read, engaging readers with its believable and charming characters. This unorthodox romance is light and fun and works well in audiobook format. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys humorous, character-driven stories.
